I feel incredibly privileged to represent the Labour Party as your parliamentary candidate for Droitwich and Evesham.
I am currently a research and policy manager for a local healthcare organisation. My role is focused on ensuring that decisions and changes to health and social care services in Birmingham are totally focused on public need – this involves listening to people to ensure that their views come first especially those who are not easily heard. Including championing what matters to people and working with others to find ideas that work for people. It also involves empowering people to demand services and giving them agency to engage with those that provide and commission services. I hope to bring this way of working into my role as Labour MP for Droitwich and Evesham. I will work hard to understand your challenges, concerns, and priorities, and work tirelessly to champion these when decisions are made.
I have spent the last few weeks meeting local people in Droitwich & Evesham, like yourself, so I can understand the issues that matter to you. You have told me that you are concerned that our high streets are ghost towns and concerns with anti-social behaviour. You can see that the NHS is no longer delivering for us and there is a lack of a lasting solution to immigration. The people of Droitwich and Evesham bear the burden of the cost-of-living crisis necessitating foodbanks in our area. Sewage is polluting our rivers. The affordable houses needed are not being built. Our public transport is lacking, and we struggle with traffic and congestion. We need a strategy that improves the connectedness of our villages so people don’t feel forgotten or excluded.
Things were not always like this; the conservative government has let us down. Its time to rediscover our ambition, bring hope and usher in the change that is needed for Droitwich and Evesham. The Labour party has set out its mission to get our future back, focusing on economic stability, getting our NHS back on track, bringing safety and security back on our streets. Labour is committed to ensuring that there is equality of opportunity so that we can all get on in life. We need a government that will provide the certainty that businesses need to invest, grow and create jobs through strong fiscal rules, a new National Wealth Fund and a new industrial strategy. I strongly believe in Labour’s plan to make work pay, including better protection for workers and making work more family friendly.
As a mother of three boys, I am passionate about providing a better future for our children. To this end I have worked on projects to improve the provision of mental health support to young people and support for children with autism and ADHD. I have led on campaigns to improve safety for our children whilst accessing schools. I look forward to supporting the implementation of Labour’s plans for our children and young people.

I am a strong believer in community and individual responsibility. I volunteer at my local church teaching young people, at the local parkrun and have supported teaching in a local school. I am a board member of a charity that works to empower people and develop sustainable communities. I am also a trustee for a charity working to improve maternal health and outcomes for the most vulnerable. I have organised litter picks and police surgeries following concerns raised around crime.
I recognise that I won’t be seen as a “local” to Droitwich & Evesham – but it is important to remember that a significant number of current local residents were, like me, not born in this country. Britain is a country that has demonstrated over centuries that where you come from and what your background is are irrelevant – it is what you can achieve and your passion for our values that counts. I and my family are very keen to settle in Worcestershire and this will be a high priority if I am elected.
Whether you see yourself as a Labour voter or have never voted Labour before – now is your chance to vote for the change that Droitwich and Evesham needs.
I promise to work hard to ensure that we bring the benefits of a new, stronger economy, renewed NHS, improved transport, environmental protections and sustainable public services to Droitwich and Evesham.
Thanks
Chipiliro Kalebe-Nyamongo

After 14 years of sticking-plaster politics, that has left our economy broken and our public services in ruin, it is time to restore pride and purpose in our country. With a Labour led, mission-driven government we can achieve this. I am backing Labour and our Labour candidate, Dr Chipiliro Kalebe-Nyamongo, to deliver the much needed change we need. Together, we can make this a reality!
