Members from the Evesham Branch of the Labour Party brought their Street Stall to the Market Square in Evesham to highlight the damaging impact of the rising cost of living.
Members of Evesham Labour Party set up a street stall near the Market Square in Evesham on Saturday morning to highlight the damaging impact of the rising cost of living. The stall showed how the price of the most common foods has soared recently, while leaflets emphasised the impact of this, especially for those on modest incomes.
Members and supporters also distributed leaflets and displayed hand-held banners showing examples from local MP, Nigel Huddleston’s voting record, questioning how far his votes represented the needs and views of many of his constituents.
New Chair of Evesham Labour Party, Mike Harland, said ‘The response from those keen to campaign with us was good to see, especially as we don’t have local elections this year. It was clear from the many conversations we had that lots of traditional Conservative voters are fed up with the incompetence of this government in tackling the effects of the cost -of -living crisis. Most people spoken to were also highly critical of the hypocrisy and callousness shown by the government over Party gate and so much more. It is time for a change!
